Well it is happening right before my eyes…..she’s growing up. And a lot faster than I expected.

Today was a very unique day in that Aria spent most of it being HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!! Great…..a 19 month old, who is already into the terrible twos. She ran amok in the store, didn’t listen to a word I said, uncleaned all that I tried to clean and tried to bite me….I swear someone switched out my angel for the demon seed. WHAT HAPPENED??????

So I did what any respectable, sane rational mom would do……I bribed her.

I told her that if she listened to me and made good choices. We use “choices” instead of “bad girl” “wrong” etc. I say “that was a good choice” with a smile if she did something safe, appropriate, wise…..and “that was a bad choice” frown when she does something unsafe, damaging (ie anything with a pen….her favorite toy…..couches, sheets, walls….nothing is safe from THE PEN) or not appropriate.

She actually understands the choice thing…..but NOT TODAY! And today was a crazy bad choice day. So again, like I said….I bribed her. I said she could have a toy if she listened……well….I’ll be whippersnapped by a little whippersnapper….it worked. So I had to own up to my end of the deal (it was two hours of good listening and good choices…..just moments AFTER the demon seed reared her curly head).

So I showed her things I liked……(dolls, little people, puzzles…etc.) and she picked what SHE wanted……pictured above.

A Disney Princess purse, complete with compact (with mirror) fake eye shadow (not real, but plastic) fake lipstick (thankfully also plastic) a sparkly something??? and a pair of pink sunglasses. Which she carries slung on her arm at all times. Except for when she was at her Auntie Bana’s (pictured above) where she wanted to show off her new purse.

She put those glasses on herself.

Ok….what’s with the purses and shoes?????? Is she really gonna be a girly girl???? Oh boy.

Anyway there she is miss Independence.

Love is letting them grow up to become who THEY want to become. (even if it kills you!)

PS….while I love me a good ‘fo Kiddo’s hair just came out of a ponytail….in case people are wonderin’ how her hair got SO HIGH
